Idea 'Honey Bunny' rules after kolaveri DI

'HONNNNEY BUNNNYYYYYYY '
MUMBAI: Shekhar Mehra, a marketing executive working in Gurgaon, recounts how two of his friends have been in a sulky mood of late because their girlfriends have been insisting on addressing them as their
"honey bunnies." Elsewhere, 10-year old Aradhya Jain giggles and tells his parents how all his classmates - he is studying in the fourth standard in a suburban Mumbai school - break into the 'Honey Bunny' song as soon as the teacher leaves the classroom.
Honey Bunny is apparently even making it to sangeet ceremonies through the winter wedding season. Idea Cellular's new jingle, created by ad agency Lowe Lintas, has caught the fancy of people across the country and is evoking extreme reactions from likes to supreme irritation. If the soundtrack for the last few months of 2011 was Kolaveri Di, this year it is Honnnnnnnnnnney Bunnnnnnnnnnnnnnny.
Amit Trivedi, composer of the jingle, admits candidly: "I thought I have done enough nice tracks, now let me do an irritating track." Love it, hate it, you can't ignore it. Adds Trivedi, "The idea was to create something that could work like a ring tone, that was bizarre and annoying and that made people wonder: 'what is this weird song that is being passed around'?"
